31 Days of World-wide Flavors for National Nourishment Thirty day period: Working day 28

For working day 28 of my “31 of World Flavors” collection, dietitian and close friend Christy Wilson talks about her love for mangos!

Mangos

Christy’s selection just one worldwide flavor is mango. It has a tropical, citrus taste that is so juicy and refreshing. Mangos are a minimal sour, a minimal sweet, and a ton scrumptious! There are often a number of varieties of mangos in year all 12 months lengthy so I can constantly obtain it at my local grocery retailer. Mangos contain fiber, which is outstanding for gut overall health and can help us feel entire and satisfied, and they contain over 20 various vitamins and minerals which includes natural vitamins A and C.

Mangos are rather functional and can be eaten by by themselves, put together with other fruits, veggies, grains and herbs, or muddled or blended into beverages and desserts. I love eating magos as a dessert or snack with a tiny added lime juice and my most loved chili lime seasoning, Tajin. As a take care of, I puree new mango and make it into paletas (frozen pops)! I discovered that, especially when my kids were being youthful, this was a enjoyment way to offer my little ones fruit and they beloved it! I also like mixing diced fresh new mango with cucumber, jicama and a little cilantro for a sweet, clean and crunchy combo. Here’s my recipe for Mango Chile Limon Paletas (frozen pops)– love!
