Planet Fitness will require you to wear a mask while you work out starting Aug. 1

The gym chain Planet Fitness is the latest company to announce that it will require visitors and members to wear masks amid the pandemic.

The gym franchise with clubs across 46 states announced the plan Monday, saying that everyone working out at its facilities will have to wear face coverings starting  Saturday. Currently, all employees are required to wear masks.

“As we continue to face the COVID-19 pandemic, amid an ongoing global health crisis, wellness has never been as essential to our collective community as it is today,” said Chris Rondeau, CEO at Planet Fitness, in a statement.

What Will Be Allowed Starting Monday

TWIN CITIES, MN — Starting Monday, what’s known as “dispersed” and “remote camping” will be allowed in Minnesota, per Gov. Tim Walz’s latest executive order called “Stay Safe MN.”

A dispersed campsite is defined as a “single campsite, not in a developed campground, used for overnight camping.” A remote campsite is a “designated backpack or watercraft campsite, not in a developed campground, used for overnight camping.”

Remote and dispersed camping typically happen in Minnesota state forests. Find out more on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website.

Developed campgrounds will remain closed to recreational camping. Hiking and fishing are allowed at campgrounds, however.
